What to Wear When Swimming

January 17, 2008 / by ybgirp

Its been raining and the river is swollen. Some kids got swept away and nearly drowned, had to be rescued by the fire brigade. Boys can no longer swim because they wear baggy trousers to the knees in the water. It’s the fashion and it’s lethal. Girls aren’t so stupid. Naked is the only safe way to swim; or Speedos... the least resistance means the greatest chance of survival. The incident reminded me of when I was a kid. Our family used to go to a waterhole on a stony river. Crystal clear water, only a trickle unless it had been raining. One day the water was running fast, swirling around in the pool before escaping. Mother plunged into the centre and started spinning. She was no swimmer, couldn’t touch the bottom and began to panic. Dad just stood on the bank and laughed as she spun round and round calling out for help. I panicked and had nightmares for ages afterwards although she had been in no real danger.
After that she refused to go to the river again, I suspect that had been dad’s intention, because we went more often from then on, further up where mum had always refused to go where everyone was naked. Dad subscribed to the theory that clothing serves to focus erotic attention on the body, thereby exciting an unhealthy interest in sex. Nudism, by correcting a false sense of shame, enhances everyone’s self-assurance and furnishes them with an appreciation of the essential beauty and dignity of the human body. There were all ages and shapes and sizes. I was ten and it was the most liberating experience any child could have. I still recall the almost electrical surge of understanding that, without clothes everyone was equal. There was none of the family bickering, one-upmanship, showing off, girls parading their new bikini... Everyone was friendly and pleasant and calm – and I became a nudist for life.

Can understand what you mean, but didnt you had difficulties with feelings while you were at the age of 12 till 20? At that age children get shy feelings.

Children only get shy, embarrassed feelings if they learn them from their parents and peers. My parents encouraged me to be naked whenever possible, and so i have always felt more comfortable naked than clothed. From the age of fifteen i was a nude artist's model, and for years when an actor in europe I often performed naked. I used to go to Isle du Levant, where loads of adolescents go with their parents and no one is shy. It is the disease of our times to think that nude is rude. [COOL]
