Rain

January 11, 2008 / by ybgirp

Well, I've cracked it... I didn't copy and paste the code. So here’s the spider – bit of an anticlimax really. Our problem, after ten years of drought, is rain. It’s been raining now since the beginning of December. We’ve had one flood – isolated for a couple of days, and there are springs popping up everywhere, one in the middle of that lawn, on the drive, down the path to the pond... everywhere we walk it’s squish, squish... and we’re on a stony hill... the poor people down in the valley below are growing wet feet.
OP course we love the rain, it means we won't die of drought next winter. We won't have to sell up and leave... yet. We knew when we moved to the sub tropics that summer was the wet season... but still. It would be nice to get the washing dry and have a towel that didn't smell as if it’s been used for wrapping mushrooms.
To cap it all I painted the bedroom today, it’s time to go to bed but the paint hasn’t dried and it stinks... hope it’s not toxic. If I kark it overnight I’ll let you know.

I think many people have a misconception of what 'global warning' really is--here in the States they are making fun of Gore because of all the snow the north is having--what they don't realize is that global warming means all kinds of changes in weather--and we are getting that.
We are in bad shape down here in the Southern part of the USA with draught conditions.
